Investing in Young People, the Community & grass roots Basketball
Reach for the Sky Basketball was set up to provide opportunities and pathways through the involvement of basketball projects aimed to positively influence young people socially and economically with benefits to the wider community. We have currently engaged with over 10,000 young people in the South Lanarkshire area.
We are a social enterprise limited company with charitable status operating since 2010 building a comprehensive grass root community sport structure which links in with not only the local authority and partners directly but also in partnership with current clubs active in the area as well as basketballscotland to ensure we have a flawless pathway which ties into local and national structure.
This is and can be carried out in a variety of activities such as Basketball Development Academies, Basketball Development Leagues, Coach & Volunteer Pathway, a Summer Streetball Initiative, School provisions and programmes, and basketball camps.
Our projects delivery theme is participation based and our focus has been all about inclusion and maximum participation rather than on a small select group, like elite athletes.
